The Castle Corner (Brihuega)

The rural house El Rincón del Castillo (The Castle Corner) is attached to the castle walls, in the most charming area of the Brihuega village, in the Alcarria area. It is a house from the XVIII century set in four flours and completely renovated to incorporate the original ancient, rural flavour to the finishings and comfort of the XXI century. The beauty of the property surroundings is spectacular. The house has DVD, projector with a 2x2m screen  to make your stay as pleasant as possible.


The village was described by Spanish author Camilo José Cela in his book “Journey to La Alcarria” as a place of great historical interest to visitors due to its magnificent historical & artistic monuments, such as the fortress and walled enclosure. The village holds important cultural events and has a great gastronomy offer.


The house has 156 square meters and can accommodate up to 6 to 8 people. It is set in four floors and comprises two double-bed bedrooms and two double single-bed bedrooms, two bathrooms and a cloakroom. The master suite bedroom has a reception area, terrace and an en-suite bathroom. The house is rented as a whole and is fully equipped to make visitors feel at home:

– Kitchen with all kind of electric appliances and kitchenware (washing machine, microwave, dishwasher, cutlery, diner sets etc.)

– Projector with 2x2m screen, with Home Cinema sound, DVD and air conditioning.

-Sigüenza: its a medieval and thousand-year-old city, where its stones speak of history, legend and inherited traditions. Historical monuments include the Sigüenza castle, current Parador Nacional (stated-owner hotel), the Santa María cathedral/basilica and the Doncel House.

-Pastrana: medieval ambiance city with plentiful ancient memories and legends. Historical monuments include the Colegiata (Collegiate Church), the Palacio Ducal (the Duke’s Castle), where the Princess of Éboli used to live and the Alfonso V tapestry and convents founded by Santa Teresa de Jesús.

– Brihuega: El Jardín de la Alcarria, with an outstanding cultural and architectural legacy, important historical monuments, good restaurants, bullfighting and fiestas. Suggested visits to Sigúenza, Medinaceli and Torija. One can also enjoy the Reservoir Route that starts in Brihuega and practice nautical sports.


Address: Plaza de la Guia, 4 – 19400 Brihuega (Guadalajara, Castilla-La Mancha). Turning on Km. 82 of the National II road, exit Brihuega – Miralrio, and continue for 10 km until you reach the village. Once in Brihuega, head to Plaza del Coso (Townhall) and take Virgen de la Peña Street, towards the Castle.


The house is rented as a whole, for a maximum of 8 people (22.50 euro per person, per night, approx.). A 200 euro deposit returnable the day of departure is required. This is a precautionary measure to encourage visitors to look after the property. We have never had any problems with our visitors and the deposit has always been returned. Prices do not include VAT. Please note that as from 1 September 2012, the VAT rate in Spain s 10%.


We have another house within 5 kms of the village, Caserío de Palazuelos: a country house located in the middle of a valley, close to a river. A large property which accommodates up to 12 people, with swimming pool, BBQ, garden and several terraces. Further details.
